Well, my family and I went into the city today (since we moved almost ten years ago, they have to drag me in kicking & screaming) and they know the only way to keep me happy is to promise me a stop at AGP . . .so today, they dropped me off, then went downtown to "flomp" around and I had all the time in the world. . .2.5 hours!

Anyway, as some of you may remember, I adopted Kit & Addy from a neighbor over the summer, and Kit's hair was a mess. Addy had a "lazy" left eye & was losing eye color as well(hair also needed attention). I did the best I could with washing and Downy rinses on both, but no luck.

So, today was the day to drop them off for a visit to the hospital. This morning I undressed them - it was all I could do to keep from wrapping them in a blanket to keep them warm - I wrapped them in tissue paper instead.

They were so nice at AGP. They took all the info on the girls - Kit will be getting a new head and limbs (her fingertips are all chewed up and she also has a small burn mark, my poor Kit) I think they do some sort of a "deal" when you get more than one thing done, because with shipping and everything it was about $60. & change. Addy will get her eye fixed for the price of shipping (I assume this means a new head).

Then, they pulled out a couple of flannel receiving blankets and I almost cried. They were wrapped up and tucked away for their trip. I am feeling a little better, but it is amazing how quickly you bond with these girls. I will miss them & will not be completely happy until they get home.

Because I had two posters I was returning for credit, I figured I had some extra "cash" to spend (a whopping $12.!!!), so I started "shopping". I went everywhere, even visited Bitty Baby Land. I do want one eventually. . .I picked up Molly's holiday dress, the AGT box of socks & tights (I wanted the tights for Lindsey's Hanukah outfit), Felicity's shoes, socks & garters and the AG Doll Tote. Of course, I had to get the ski outfit for $14. (what a deal...)

TO THOSE WHO HAVE THIS OUTFIT: doesn't it come with mittens? I could have sworn it did. . .I may have an old catalog, I will look later. . .

It was really hard to limit myself. I am amazed at the conversations I overheard. . .people spends hundreds of dollars at a shot there! Lots of parents were busy trying to convince their girls to put things on their holiday lists. So funny. . .

There are so many things I still need (want!!!) LOL. . .Felicity & Samantha still need their holiday dresses. I am unhappy about the lace trim on Samantha's dress, they've now changed it again. After looking through about 20 dresses, I decided not to buy it today. I almost picked up Nellie's holiday dress for Samantha. Perhaps I will order Sam's dress online and hope for the best!

I kept telling myself the whole time I was there. . ."get it online with the code. . .code, online. . ." LOL My mantra. . .

I hope I didn't bore anyone, I love to read about everyone's trips to AGP, so please forgive my rambling. . .

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Sandy, you are correct!!! it did have mittens! I just checked! I guess the special comes with no mittens! darn! I got the outfit too and mine also did not come with the mittens. I was so excited on getting the outfit I did not notice til you posted about the mittens.

<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">Isn't it lovely how they tuck the girls in for the trip? When I brought in Lindsey I thought it was very sweet. Gives you a sense of "less sadness" when you leave them behind.
Your girls will be back in no time, happy and ready to be treasured (and spolied!) again.
Hang in there!

Sounds like the trip was fun....except for taking Addy and Kit to the hospital...

That's the part I don't like about sending my dolls traveling or to AGH....the missing them part! That's what's holding me back from sending a doll to AGH!

It's such a great place isn't it. I'm glad you had a good time at AGP and guess what - I'm one of those people that spent a fortune in one go - but that way I spent the shipping costs to Austria on more AG stuff instead and it's well worth it
